1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE

Vehicle Description 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SE $8,495 1970 Mercedes‑Benz 280SE • Inline‑Six • CNG‑Converted • Non‑Running Project This 1970 Mercedes‑Benz 280SE is a six‑cylinder W108 sedan finished in its original color with a clean and complete interior. The car does not run or drive in its current condition. At some point in its life it was converted to operate on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). I do not have documentation or history regarding when the conversion was performed, who performed it, or why it was done. The original fuel system components for gasoline are no longer present. The interior remains clean and largely original, including the factory radio. The body shows rust bubbles on the doors and other age‑related wear consistent with a long‑stored project. This 280SE is offered as a non‑running project suitable for restoration, recommissioning, or returning to its original gasoline configuration. The W108 chassis is known for its build quality, classic Mercedes driving feel, and elegant Paul Bracq design. This example provides a mostly complete starting point for someone looking to revive a vintage Mercedes sedan.
