Description
This 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda is a real R-code Hemi, one of 652 hardtop Hemi ’Cudas produced. This Hemi received a complete and professional restoration with upgrades to increase power and improve drivability. It is powered by its original matching-numbers 426ci Hemi V-8 engine upgraded with BigStuff 3 electronic fuel injection using modified 6.4-liter Hemi injectors, a hydraulic roller cam and custom pistons. The Carter AFB carburetors are modified for air intake only, and the engine is fired by an MSD 6 ignition system. It produces a dyno-tested 535hp and 532 lb-ft of torque, while chassis dyno testing shows 375hp and 404 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. The factory D32 heavy-duty automatic transmission was replaced with a Keisler Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission with a pistol-grip shifter. The rear axle is a Dana 60 with 3.73 gears. An upgraded black anodized aluminum radiator keeps the engine cool. Spent gases exit through a set of long-tube headers feeding an N41 dual exhaust system with N42 chrome tips. The exterior, originally (EW1) Spinnaker White, was professionally refinished in Hemi Orange. This E74 426 Hemi dual 4-barrel V-8 engine-equipped Mopar includes an N96 fresh-air shaker hood, hood tie-down pins and power steering. It is equipped with power disc brakes. Interior features include bucket seats, a Rallye instrument cluster with N85 tachometer and a center console with wood-grain trim. The sale includes two factory-original, date-code-correct Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetors.
