Description
KEY FACTS A striking street-style Volkswagen Beetle Baja-inspired custom, extensively re-engineered with a significantly uprated drivetrain and numerous performance and cosmetic enhancements. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 2,332cc air-cooled flat-four with twin Weber 44 IDF carburettors, producing a quoted 165bhp, driving the rear wheels through a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. This example is currently located in Australia and has only recently been acquired by the seller. The engine and transmission were built by Daniel Reinhardt at the Australian VW Performance Centre, while the seller reports the car has also benefited from a complete repaint, a full interior retrim, and numerous further mechanical upgrades. The odometer indicates 188 km, though this is not warranted. Externally, this Beetle now features tubular bumpers, LED headlights, carbon-fibre door mirrors, smoothed body panels, LED taillights, a Baja-style cut-off rear-end, and gloss-black window surrounds. This example is now finished in a striking shade of Lamborghini Orange, over a body-coloured cabin featuring black Nappa leather upholstery with orange piping and stitching, and chrome trim. It rides on an aftermarket set of 17-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels finished in gloss-black with Porsche centre caps, fitted with Dayton DT30 tyres. Performance upgrades include a 2,332cc flat-four engine featuring an alloy crankcase, 84mm forged crankshaft, 5.5-inch H-beam connecting rods, 94mm Mahle pistons and cylinders, a C45 camshaft, chromoly pushrods, Scat 20018 lifters, EMPI GTV-2 L6 cylinder heads, Scat 1.4:1 ratio rocker arms, 42 x 37.5mm valves, twin Weber 44 IDF carburettors, a Gene Berg full-flow oil pump with remote oil filter and cooler, a Magnaspark electronic ignition system, MST serpentine belt conversion, Vintage Speed thrott
