Description
Volvo's P1800 sports coupe debuted in 1961, with styling penned by Pelle Petterson while he was working at the Italian design house Frua. The model became the 1800S after production moved to Volvo's Gothenburg factory and was updated with the 2.0L B20 engine for 1969. The 1800E followed for 1970 with the B20E engine, which used Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and was rated at 130 horsepower and 130 lb-ft. of torque. Additional 1970 updates included four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes, an M410 four-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive, flow-through ventilation, revised instrumentation, and wider 15" wheels.
This 1800E is finished in Dark Green over tan upholstery and is powered by the fuel-injected B20E inline-four paired with the M410 four-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive.
Work completed under prior ownership includes a suspension refresh with Bilstein shocks, as well as clutch, rear main seal, brake master cylinder, ignition components, and weatherstripping. A driveshaft center bearing and support were replaced in 2025. In preparation for the sale, the seller reports recent work including installation of a stainless-steel exhaust system, recovering of the front and rear seats, as well as replacement of the interior panels, valve cover, and rear suspension bushings.
