Description
This 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe was originally built as a show car between 2008 and 2010, acquired by Miami Heat President and Hall of Fame Coach Pat Riley in 2016, and subsequently updated by Walters Engineering in 2017–2018. Dubbed “Bad Apple”, the build is powered by a Chevrolet ZZ454/470 big-block V8 with aluminum heads, an Edelbrock AVS-2 carburetor, a 292 hydraulic roller camshaft, and a Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine system. Power is delivered through a McLeod five-speed manual transmission to a Currie Ford 9″ rear end with a 3.50:1 limited-slip differential. The chassis uses a Heidts Pro-G front subframe and four-link rear suspension with tubular control arms, power rack-and-pinion steering, coilovers, and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. Finished in House of Kolors Kandy Apple Kustom Red over Black vinyl, the Camaro rides on staggered 17″ and 18″ American Racing wheels and features a custom interior, hidden audio system, carbon-fiber AutoMeter instrumentation, and extensive electrical and chassis upgrades. This Camaro is now offered by The Barn Miami, a BaT Local Partner , on consignment with a binder documenting the build, engine information, and photographs, along with a Florida title. The Camaro was originally built by Jeff Richards between 2008 and 2010 and reportedly received a Goodguys “Cool Camaro” award and an ISCA “Best Custom” award at the 2010 Portland Roadster Show. It is finished in House of Kolors Kandy Apple Kustom Red, with the exterior completely painted, wet-sanded, and buffed. Exterior details include a cowl hood, front and rear spoilers, SS badges, tinted glass, a black rear panel, and quad recessed round taillights.
