Description
Description1971 Dodge Challenger 360 engine 727 transmission 8/34 rear with 489 case and 3.91 gears Car is a running driving car . It has spent the last 2.5 years in Florida stored inside and waiting to be upgraded. I did some work on the car and then due to an injury work stopped and it stayed indoors in storage out of the elements while I recovered. Recently I was well enough to do some The car now has a very strong running 360 with a 727 transmission and a Turbo action street/strip valve body with new kickdown linkage and a Mopar 489 case 8 3/4 rear with 3.91 gears. Details below. Motor Transmission and Rear Differential Condition 360 C.I. Motor runs very strong has MSD with a 2 step, currently wired for a launch control which I never used but it is hooked up as you can see in the pictures and videos. Engine obviously has a large cam I recently changed the oil using Rotella that has a large amount of ZDDP since I am not sure if the car has solid lifters. Nicely tuned combination runs great. Edelbrock aluminum intake, carb looks new and in good condition. Mopar performance valve covers, headers, new alternator, new Diehard battery, new Mopar battery tray, battery is properly secured with new cable ends on the battery, new Mopar mini starter. 727 automatic Transmission had a manual valve body when I purchased the car. I changed it to a more street friAndy street/strip valve body from Turbo Action that I have used with great success in many Mopar's. Also has new OEM kickdown linkage installed (see pictures) transmission work and linkage install was done by a reputable local transmission shop. Rear works great I was told that it has 3.91 gears which feels correct, but I didn't do any servicing to the rear to confirm. Believed to be a Posi rear. I did look at and confirm the case is the high performance and desirable 489 casting, this is the strongest 8 3/4 with a 1.875 tapered pinion stem. Read More
