Description
This 1971 Ford C-900 is a tilt-cab truck that was outfitted by Oren Roanoke Corporation of Vinton, Virginia, with a Great Eastern “Commander” fire apparatus in 1971, and it is noted to have been utilized by the Gepp Fire Department in Arkansas for 30 years. Power is provided by a 534ci Super Duty V8 linked with a five-speed manual transmission, and the truck rides on a dually rear axle and 20″ multi-piece wheels over air-actuated brakes. The fire apparatus features a Waterous pump, a generator, a hose bed, twin booster hose reels, and hose and ladder racks, and the red cab has gold-finished accents, a front-mounted Federal Q-Siren, emergency lights, and tow mirrors. Service since 2025 included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the fuel filter, spark plugs, and clutch slave cylinder. Acquired by the seller in 2026, this C-900 fire truck is now offered at no reserve with a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name. Produced from 1957 through 1990, the C-Series was the first tilt-cab truck offered by Ford. This example was outfitted with a Great Eastern Commander fire apparatus in 1971, and details include a front-mounted Federal Q-Siren, emergency lights, spotlights, a Rice and Holman badge, gold-finished accents, side air intakes, diamond-plate trim, and tow mirrors.
