1971 Meyers Manx Tow'd Dune Buggy

1971 Meyers Manx Tow'd Buggy, Bruce Meyers Certified RestorationThis 1971 Meyers Manx Tow'd Buggy is a rare and special piece of dune buggy history, built on a tubular chassis and certified by Bruce Meyers. The Tow'd was one of Meyers' most unique designs, created as a lightweight, minimalist off-road buggy that could be easily towed behind another vehicle, which is where the 'Tow'd' name comes from.Bruce Meyers helped define the fiberglass dune buggy movement in the 1960s with the original Meyers Manx, creating an icon of California car culture and off-road fun. The Tow'd took that same spirit and made it even more focused with a bare-bones tube-frame layout, low weight, and simple mechanical design. Because production numbers were limited and many were heavily used over the years, documented Tow'd buggies are rare today, especially examples with Bruce Meyers certification and detailed restoration records. This buggy received an extensive 18-month nut-and-bolt restoration completed in January 2025, with virtually every component gone through, reconditioned, restored, or replaced. It is powered by a rebuilt 1582cc flat 4-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, keeping the vintage driving experience pure and engaging. During the rebuild, many of the engine components were powder-coated or chromed, giving the buggy a clean, show-quality presentation while preserving its classic character. With its exposed tubular chassis, lightweight design, vintage Meyers personality, and extensive paperwork, this Tow'd is more than just a fun beach or trail buggy, it is a collectible piece of off-road history. It comes with extensive documentation, receipts, certificates, and paperwork, adding confidence and value to an already rare and desirable example.Key Highlights1971 Meyers Manx Tow'd BuggyRare tubular chassis dune buggy designCertified by Bruce MeyersExtensive 18-month nut-and-bolt restorationRestoration completed in January 2025Rebuilt 1582cc flat 4-cylinder engineEngine components powder-coated or chromed during rebuild4-speed manual transmissionComponents reconditioned, restored, or replaced throughoutExtensive documentation, receipts, paperwork, and certificates includedLightweight, minimalist off-road designRare and collectible Meyers Manx modelOverall, this 1971 Meyers Manx Tow'd is a rare opportunity to own a certified, documented, and freshly restored example of one of Bruce Meyers' most unique creations.
