Vehicle Description 1971 Volkswagen East Coast Street Rail $30,000 Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to digitally present this 1971 Volkswagen East Coast Custom Street Rail. This incredible 2021 build blends dune-buggy heritage with modern street-rod flair, offering a raw and exhilarating driving experience. Finished in a striking neon green tubular frame over a black interior, this rail car was built with both performance and attitude in mind. Power comes from a 2.4L Ecotec engine paired with a custom-built 4-speed transmission, delivering plenty of punch for backroad cruising or a scenic Sunday drive. Stopping power is ensured by four-wheel disc brakes, while rack-and-pinion steering provides precise handling. The details highlight the craftsmanship - console switches to control underglow lighting and the stereo system, new wheels and tires, marine-grade speakers, and a JL stereo setup to keep the fun rolling. The frame itself has been powder-coated for durability, and stainless steel nuts and bolts add to the long-lasting build quality.
