Description
This Alfa Romeo Montreal was delivered new in August 1975 to Frankfurt, Germany, before being imported to the US in 1985. One of a claimed 3,925 examples built over a seven-year production run, chassis 8339 underwent a refurbishment by The Classic Rides Factory of Calimesa, California, in 2014 that involved a color change to orange, an interior re-trim in beige leather, and mechanical service. It was subsequently featured in the November 2016 issue of Playboy magazine and is noted to have won best-in-class at the 2021 Quail Motorsports Gathering. The car is powered by a 2,593cc V8 equipped with SPICA fuel injection, while shifting is through a five-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. Further details include retractable headlight louvers, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, and 14″ Campagnolo magnesium-aluminum alloy wheels along with a wood-rimmed Hellebore steering wheel, air conditioning, and electric windows. It previously sold on BaT in June 2025 , and since that time touch-ups were performed, Koni Sport dampers and sport springs were installed, the air-conditioning system was repaired, and the clutch cylinders were replaced. This Montreal was acquired by 1600 Veloce, a BaT Local Partner , in 2026 and is now offered at no reserve in North Salem, New York with records, documentation, and a clean Tennessee title. The Montreal was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and debuted at the Expo ’67 in Montreal, Canada. Styling elements included a NACA duct on the hood, retractable headlight louvers, and six slats stacked vertically behind each side window. Headlight trim was fabricated in July 2025.
