Description
This custom 1972 Chevrolet Camaro nicknamed "Slammer" is powered by a 650hp General Motors LT4 crate engine paired with a Bowler Performance 4L80E automatic transmission. The drivetrain includes a General Motors 12-bolt rear end with Moser Engineering axles, an Eaton Truetrac differential, US Gear ring and pinion and a Lokar shifter. Engine equipment includes a K&N air cleaner, Powermaster alternator and starter, General Motors ECU, ICT Billet engine mounts, Moroso overflow tank, Wegner Motorsports serpentine system and HP Tuners tuning. Exhaust is handled by Ultimate Headers and MagnaFlow mufflers. The chassis retains a General Motors frame and is equipped with Ridetech control arms, spindles and suspension components with Fox coilovers and Borgeson steering. Wilwood braking equipment consists of six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with 14-inch rotors and a Wilwood master cylinder. A Lokar e-brake cable is also fitted. The exterior incorporates AMD body panels, an Alumicraft grille, Anvil Auto headlights and mirrors, Ringbrothers hood hinges, Digi-Tails taillights and Steele Rubber Products weatherstripping. BASF Automotive Refinish RM products were used for the paint and primers. Forgeline Motorsports AL307 wheels measure 18x8 inches in front and 18x10 inches at the rear, with Mickey Thompson Street Comp 295/35/18 tires listed on the tech sheet. The interior features Corbeau seats and harnesses, Apex Leather upholstery, Dakota Digital RTX gauges, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, General Motors steering column and pedals, Nu-Relics power windows, Vintage Air climate control and an American Autowire Highway 22 wiring harness. Audio equipment includes a Kenwood head unit with Kicker amplifier and speakers, while HushMat sound-dampening is also installed. Garret’s Rod Shop handled project management, 3D printing, engine dyno work, exhaust fabrication, fiberglass work, custom machining, paint and bodywork and sheet metal fabrication, with plating and polishing by Advanced Plating. The "Slammer" was named Best GM Car at the 2024 SEMA Show Kicker booth and Best Camaro at Chevy in the Smokies 2025. It was a featured showcase build at the 2025 Corvette Expo, a ScottieDTV Dirty Dozen selection at the Pigeon Forge Rod Run and a Top 12 Builder's Choice at the 2025 Goodguys Columbus Nationals. It was also featured in Goodguys National Tour promotional content and licensed as a digital feature car for the CSR2 Racing mobile game.
