Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Although styling changes to the 1972 Chevrolet Corvette were minimal compared to ’71 models, the ’72 Stingray was the last Corvette to feature full-chrome front and rear bumpers before federal safety regulations required a transition to body colored, flexible urethane bumpers.
Available in two body styles — a Sport Coupe with a removable roof panel and a Convertible with a folding soft top — the Corvette offered buyers a choice of three V8 engines, including a standard 350ci V8.
This ’72 Convertible has been refinished in Ontario Orange with a white convertible soft top over Saddle vinyl upholstery with cloth seat inserts. The car also has a replacement raised hood, dual exhaust, a driver’s rearview mirror, concealed windshield wipers, 15” steel wheels with chrome rings and hubcaps, independent front and rear suspension, variable-ratio power steering, bucket seats, a tachometer, center console, and a radio.
The convertible’s original 350ci engine was swapped for a Ram Jet-equipped 350ci V8, and modifications are reported to include Vortec cylinder heads, an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, an Edelbrock Performer 650-cfm carburetor, and an electric fuel pump. It is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission.
