1972 De Tomaso Pantera

This 1972 De Tomaso Pantera is powered by a refurbished 351ci Cleveland V-8 engine paired with its original ZF five-speed manual transmission and a new clutch. The engine was overhauled with a Ford Motorsport high-performance camshaft and valve train, new pistons and bearings, an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, a 10-quart aluminum oil pan and Ford electronic ignition. Additional mechanical updates include an aluminum radiator and tanks, new spark plugs, distributor cap, fuel filter and battery. The exhaust system features nickel-plated headers and a Hall Pantera big-bore exhaust. The suspension components were powder-coated and fitted with new bushings and Aldan double-adjustable coilovers. A Precision Pantera chassis rigidity kit was also installed. The factory four-wheel power disc brakes were rebuilt with refurbished calipers and braided brake lines. The rust-free California body underwent restoration in 2006 and was refinished in Fly Yellow. The exterior features 17-inch Campagnolo-style wheels fitted with Continental ExtremeContact tires. The black interior was restored with leather-covered seats and dashboard, German velour carpeting and Dietz quick-release safety harnesses. Additional equipment includes power windows, tinted glass, air conditioning and factory instrumentation. Included with the vehicle are its original Campagnolo wheels, factory radio, original seat belts, trunk tub, shop manual and tools for transmission drain service and shock adjustment. The vehicle has been under the same ownership for 34 years and is accompanied by restoration receipts and maintenance records dating to early 1983. A Deluxe Marti Report documents its February 1972 production. The engine has10,000 miles since refurbishment, and the vehicle has been driven fewer than 1,500 miles since its 2006 restoration.
