Description
This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera was built in February 1972 and delivered new to Wilson Motors of Columbia, South Carolina, and was later acquired by the current owner in November 2000. Finished in white with blue stripes, the car rides on 16″ front and 17″ rear Campagnolo-style wheels and is equipped with adjustable coilovers as well as Wilwood disc brakes. Inside, black vinyl–trimmed seats are accompanied by a Lecarra steering wheel and a gated shifter. The 351ci Ford Cleveland V8 is fitted with a Holley Hi-Tek air cleaner and double-pumper carburetor and mated to a five-speed ZF manual transaxle. This Pantera is now offered on behalf of the owner by Collector Car Vault— a BaT Local Partner —with a Deluxe Marti report, over 140 pages of records, a set of 15″ Campagnolo cast magnesium wheels, spare parts, and a clean California title. The Pantera’s bodywork was designed under the direction of American designer Tom Tjaarda. This example left the factory finished in white and wears blue stripes. A front valance kit was installed in September 2023, and further details include pop-up headlights and quad exhaust outlets along with bright window trim, mirror housings, and bumperettes.
