Description
This 1972 Ducati 750GT was sold new in North Carolina and was modified under previous ownership through the installation of a half-fairing, clip-on handlebars, Performance Machine dual front disc brakes, and piggyback-reservoir Marzocchi shocks as well as high-performance Lucas coils, larger 34mm Dell’Orto PHF carburetors, pod air filters, ceramic-coated headpipes, and aftermarket chrome megaphone mufflers. The bike was purchased out of Massachusetts by the seller in 2016, since which time the carburetors have been rebuilt, the brake calipers and master cylinder overhauled, and the wiring harness, battery, and fuel petcock replaced. Power is provided by a 748cc round-case L-twin mated to a five-speed transmission, and additional equipment includes a two-up seat, polished stainless-steel fenders, a clear windscreen, a friction steering damper, and Borrani alloy rims. This 750GT is now offered in South Dakota with a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name that lists it as a 1973 model. Bodywork consisting of a half-fairing, a 4.5-gallon fiberglass fuel tank, and vented side panels was refinished in red under previous ownership, and the waterslide decals were applied in 2017. Features include a black-painted open-cradle frame, a stepped two-up seat, polished stainless-steel fenders, folding passenger foot pegs, and a center stand. The fuel tank has not been lined, but doing so is recommended by the seller, who also notes blemishes that include a fuel-tank paint bubble, a fairing crack, scratches on the headlight ring, an exhaust system ding, and a brake cleaner drip on one of the calipers.
