KEY FACTS This Lamborghini Espada Series II VIP is an exceptionally rare and distinctive V12 grand tourer, being one of just 12 examples of the special VIP version produced. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre V12, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. This example is currently located in Austria. The odometer indicates 19,679 miles, though this is not warranted. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The Espada was Lamborghini’s distinctive four-seat V12 grand tourer, featuring dramatic Bertone-designed bodywork and a front-mounted 4.0-litre V12. Introduced in 1971 and based on the Espada 400 GTE Series II, the VIP represented a particularly exclusive interpretation of Lamborghini’s four-seat grand tourer. Lamborghini produced only 12 examples of the VIP, which featured particularly distinctive two-tone interior colour schemes. This example is finished in the eye-catching shade of Miura Blue, over a special-order two-tone beige and brown leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by wood veneer and chrome trim. It rides on a set of 15-inch Borrani cross-spoke wire wheels fitted with Kelly Aquatour tyres. Equipment includes a heated rear screen, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a wooden gear knob, Jaeger gauges, electric front windows, an analogue clock, and a Sony cassette stereo. It is fitted with a twin-tailpipe ANSA exhaust system in place of the four-tailpipe arrangement. The rear lighting has been converted to European specification. The car is reportedly accompanied by extensive historical documentation, including records dating from the 1970s to the present day and a handwritten driving log. A 2015
