Description
Coupé · Brumos-supplied · RSR conversion by JLP Racing · 3.2-litre short-stroke MFI flat-six · 915 five-speed · Paint to Sample, original colour, partially original paint · Chassis 9112300820 A 1972 Porsche 911 S ordered new through Brumos Porsche of Jacksonville, a Paint to Sample car still in its original colour, with partially original paint. It was converted to 2.7 MFI specification almost immediately, and in the mid-to-late 1970s JLP Racing converted it to RSR specification with RSR flares and bumpers, a 3.0 RSR tail, a 3.0 RSR engine, RSR suspension and 917 brakes. It appears briefly in the 1981 film The Cannonball Run, which was partly filmed at JLP Racing. Brumos fitted a 964 engine in the early 1990s; the car later went to Holland and Belgium, where it received Öhlins suspension replicating the 934 set-up and its present 3.2-litre short-stroke MFI engine, before returning to the United States around 2020 and being largely returned to JLP specification. Today it runs that balanced and blueprinted 3.2 with an 019 2.7 RS pump and GT2 Dougherty cams, a 915 five-speed with oil cooler and limited-slip differential, 930 brakes and Öhlins 934 RSR-style coilovers, on 9- and 11-inch RSR-style Fuchs under JLP Racing steel flares and an IROC tail. Its history is recorded in its 2020 PCARMARKET listing, a 2022 Pelican Parts forum thread and a 2023 film, "The Lost JLP Brumos Delivered 1972 911". Disclosed: the engine is a later 3.2-litre unit, not the factory 2.4, and the later speedometer reads 107,086 miles and is not represented as total distance.
