Description
An icon of French automotive design, the Citroën DS is celebrated for its aerodynamic styling and hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension. The DS23 Pallas sat at the top of the range, combining a fuel-injected 2.3-liter engine with the luxury Pallas trim. This 1973 example is a European-market car finished in dark blue over a grey interior and equipped with a 4-speed semi-automatic transmission. Having spent its first five decades in Italy, where it underwent a rotisserie restoration, it was imported to Canada in 2023 to join a Citroën collection. It is now being offered for auction in Canada.
During its restoration, the car was stripped to bare metal, mounted on a rotisserie, and refinished in dark blue following rust remediation. Exterior features include a black vinyl roof, C-pillar-mounted turn signals, and swiveling headlights behind glass covers. It rides on 15" steel wheels with polished covers, wrapped in 185-width Michelin tires, with the front pair dating to 2021 and the rear to 2014. The seller describes the exterior as very close to concours condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with photographs from the refurbishment.
The cabin features seats trimmed in grey fabric with matching carpets, two-tone door panels, and a black dashboard. A single-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation, and amenities include an analog clock and a push-button AM/FM radio. The seller notes that sun exposure has altered the coloration of the seats over time. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to function properly.
