Oldsmobile has a rich heritage as one of America's classic car brands. Founded by Ransom E. Olds in 1897, the company produced iconic models for over a century before GM finally discontinued the Oldsmobile marque in 2004. In 1973 Oldsmobile introduced the Omega as its compact entry-level car. The Omega shared GM's X-body platform with the Chevrolet Nova, Buick Apollo, and Pontiac Ventura , but featured Olds's own styling touches. Produced from 1973 through 1984, the Omega was offered in several body styles - including the three-door hatchback seen here, as well as a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan. This beauty a 1973 Oldsmobile Omega three-door hatchback in eye-catching yellow with a black cloth interior. The bright yellow exterior presents sharply, complementing the deep black of the seats and door panels. Under the hood is a potent 350 cubic-inch (5.7L) V8 - part of Oldsmobile's famous ""Rocket"" V8 family - paired with a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic transmission. This big-block V8 delivers strong acceleration and ample torque for a compact car, giving the Omega a lively, muscle-car feel in everyday driving. Power steering and power-assisted brakes ensure that maneuvering and stopping are effortless, even with the extra power of the V8. The interior is thoughtfully appointed for comfort and convenience. Plush black cloth seats and matching door trim provide a roomy, comfortable cabin, accented by durable vinyl on the dash and panels that was typical of the era. For hot days, the factory air conditioning keeps the cabin cool. The dash houses a classic AM/FM radio with a cassette tape player, letting you enjoy music in retro style. Safety and ease are also covered - standard seatbelts are installed, and the driving experience is enhanced by the power brakes and power steering. Sitting below the fenders are polished aluminum alloy wheels (often listed as custom wheels) wrapped in modern radial tires, giving the car a sharp stance and better grip on the road. Together, these features make this Omega both fun to drive and pleasant as a cruiser. In summary, this 1973 Omega two-door coupe represents a unique blend of muscle and classic 1970s style. Its vibrant yellow paint and Oldsmobile's signature splitgrille make it a head-turner, while the 350 V8 and automatic transmission ensure reliable, smooth performance. The loaded interior - complete with air conditioning, radio/cassette player, and comfortable cloth seating - makes every trip enjoyable. On the road, it handles confidently thanks to power steering, power brakes, and the upgraded wheels and tires. Well-maintained and offered in ready-to-enjoy condition, this Omega delivers the authentic classic car experience without needing any expensive upgrades or modifications. It's a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of Oldsmobile history - a practical, powerful classic that's as much fun to drive as it is to look at."
