Description
OVERVIEWThe 1973 911T represents the final year of the original long-hood 911. Porsche moved to the G-series impact-bumper design for 1974, making 1973 the last production year of the body that had defined the car since 1964. The Targa body style, introduced in 1967 and named for Porsche's successive victories at the Targa Florio, combined open-air driving with the structural backbone of the stainless-clad roll bar and removable roof panel. The T designation placed it as the entry-level 911 variant, with softer cam timing and lower compression relative to the E and S, though the platform and fundamental character were shared across all three. Cars carrying four-plus decades of documented single-family ownership are uncommon in any segment of the collector market. Long-hood 911 values have appreciated steadily through the 2010s and 2020s, and specialist support remains broadly accessible through Porsche Classic and an established network of independent suppliers.View More
