Description
A product of the collaboration between Porsche and Volkswagen, the 914 paired a mid-engine layout with a removable Targa top in a lightweight two-seat sports car, and the 2.0-liter model introduced for 1973 offered the range's most powerful flat-four. This 1973 Porsche 914 2.0 is finished in white over a black interior and equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Benefiting from a year-long overhaul beginning in 2002, this one-owner example was purchased new in California and has been stored inside a climate-controlled storage facility since. This 914 is now being offered for auction in Oklahoma.
The car is finished in white and features a black vinyl-covered removable Targa top, chrome bumpers with black bumperettes, pop-up LED headlights, a polished driver-side mirror, and a single exhaust outlet. It rides on 16" wheels wrapped in Kumho tires measuring 195/55 with fewer than 500 miles of use. The seller describes the body as excellent and rust-free, noting slight bubbling on the rear compartment panel, and adds that the battery tray area, a known 914 rust point, is free of corrosion. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in black and is described by the seller as free of cosmetic imperfections. During the 2003 refurbishment, a new headliner was installed, the floor pan received sound deadening, new seat hinge brackets were fitted, the rear pad was reattached, and the seat-belt warning switch was replaced. The heater and radio are reported to work, and the car is not equipped with air conditioning. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to function properly.
