Description
Modified with a period Porsche six-cylinder engine swap, this 1973 Porsche 914 pairs the marque's mid-engine layout with a Bosch CIS fuel-injected 2.4-liter flat-six sourced from a 1973.5 911T. Finished in metallic grey over a black leather and grey interior, it is equipped with a 5-speed manual transaxle, 911-sourced brakes and suspension, a 911 dashboard and instruments, and 15" Fuchs wheels. Additional highlights include a Raid steering wheel, custom seats, NOS Euro-spec taillights, and new chrome bumpers. Acquired by the seller roughly five years ago and benefiting from a recent engine-out service, this 914 is now being offered for auction in Massachusetts.
The 914 was styled with a mid-engine profile, pop-up headlights, and a removable Targa roof panel. This example was refinished in metallic grey in 2015 by California Porsches of Costa Mesa, California, following rust repairs, with the roof, rockers, and sail panels painted in the body color. Flag-style mirrors, new chrome bumpers, NOS Euro-spec taillights and directionals, and Euro Bosch lenses have been fitted. The car rides on restored 15" Fuchs wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires, and the seller reports no flaws, dents, or scratches. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features custom seats upholstered in black leather with grey suede inserts, gray carpeting, and a 911 dashboard with 911 instruments. A leather-wrapped Raid steering wheel and a Blaupunkt Bluetooth stereo with new speakers have also been fitted.
