The car is represented as a documented three-owner example showing approximately 34,000 original miles, and it is accompanied by an extensive binder containing ownership history, photographs, paperwork and supporting documentation. According to the history supplied with the car, it was originally acquired from Alan Merrell Chevrolet and spent much of its early life being driven only sparingly. The original owner retained the Camaro until her passing in 1993, after which it remained stored before transferring to her son in 1997. Records state the car showed approximately 24,100 miles when sold in 2005 and approximately 24,140 miles when purchased by a later owner in 2013. The supplied history further states that the Camaro had not been involved in an accident or undergone replacement body panels during that period. Today, the Camaro preserves its unmistakable 1974 Z28 appearance while benefiting from a substantial mechanical transformation. Under the hood is an LS3 V8 rated at approximately 495 horsepower. The engine bay has been cleaned up with a smoothed firewall and a tidy installation that gives the car a much more finished appearance than the typical engine-swap build. Backing the LS3 is a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, giving the Camaro the involvement of a traditional muscle-car gearbox with an additional highway-friendly overdrive gear. A posi-traction rear differential completes the driveline combination. The chassis has also been extensively upgraded. RideTech suspension components provide a more controlled and modern driving character, while Wilwood brakes add significantly improved stopping capability. The underbody photos show a cleanly executed drivetrain installation, upgraded suspension hardware and a dual-exhaust system. Comfort has not been overlooked. Vintage Air air conditioning brings modern climate control to the cabin, while electric windows, a hidden wiper motor and a vintage-style radio add convenience without drastically changing the car's period appearance. Seat extenders provide additional driving-position adjustment, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk with a master disconnect. Inside, the Camaro retains a striking red interior with bucket seats and center console. The dashboard has been upgraded with modern instrumentation while maintaining the shape and character of the original interior. A white-ball Tremec shifter reinforces the purposeful nature of the build. Externally, the Camaro is finished in red with the distinctive black Z28 hood graphics and rear spoiler. The supplied information represents the paint and decals as original, an especially interesting detail given the extensive mechanical modernization underneath. Chrome exterior trim and the classic 1974 Camaro body lines remain intact, while the wheel and tire package gives the car a purposeful stance without overwhelming its vintage appearance. A major strength of this Z28 is its documentation. Included is an extensive history binder detailing previous ownership and mileage, along with period paperwork and information tracing the Camaro's history. Combined with its documented three-owner background, low original mileage and reportedly original paint, the documentation adds another dimension beyond the performance upgrades alone. With approximately $125,000 reportedly invested, this 1974 Camaro Z28 offers a compelling combination: genuine second-generation Z28 character, documented ownership history, an LS3 producing approximately 495 horsepower, Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, RideTech suspension, Wilwood brakes and modern air conditioning-all wrapped in a car that still retains much of its original visual identity.
