Description
Developed jointly by Porsche and Volkswagen and assembled by Karmann, the mid-engine 914 arrived in 1969 as a Targa-top sports car. For 1973, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder version replaced the six-cylinder 914/6 at the top of the range, adding forged alloy wheels, front and rear anti-roll bars, and additional instrumentation. This 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 is a well-preserved, numbers-matching example finished in its original Saturn Yellow with a tan leatherette interior, optioned with the Appearance Group and 4-bolt Fuchs forged alloy wheels. Accompanied by a copy of its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and showing approximately 26,500 documented original miles, this 914 is now being offered for auction in Florida.
Delivered new in Saturn Yellow (L13M) with California-specification equipment, this 914 retains its original paint apart from a single resprayed fender, and the seller notes the exterior has since been treated with a graphite coating. Factory equipment includes a tinted windshield, sealed-beam headlights, and fog lights integrated into the front bumper. It rides on 4-bolt Fuchs forged alloy wheels wearing Michelin tires, and an additional set of aftermarket wheels and tires is included in the sale. The seller reports the paint is in excellent condition with a few road chips and a small chip on the original windshield, which has been retained to preserve the car’s originality. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
