Description
This Maserati Khamsin was manufactured in November 1975 as one of 435 examples built during a nine-year production run. Chassis 1100 was assembled as a US-market example, although it was initially delivered in Spain, where it remained registered until its relocation to France in 2018. The car is finished in Celeste Chiaro and has been fitted with Euro-style bumpers along with “floating” taillights. Power is provided by a 4.9-liter DOHC V8 outfitted with quadruple Weber carburetors, while shifting is via a five-speed manual transmission. It rides on 15″ Campagnolo wheels and is additionally equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, power-assisted disc brakes, and Citroën-sourced variable-assistance power steering. Inside, 2+2 seating is trimmed in blue leather and accompanied by air conditioning and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The car was imported to the US prior to the selling dealer’s purchase in 2026, and it was subsequently offered on BaT in September 2026 . This Tipo 120 is now offered again at no reserve in New York from 1600Veloce, a BaT Local Partner , with Maserati Classiche documentation, service records, and a clean Tennessee title. Debuting at the 1972 Turin Auto Show, the Khamsin was the first series-production Maserati to be designed by Bertone and featured bodywork by Marcello Gandini. The chassis was derived from the contemporary Ghibli, and styling included a wedge-shaped profile, offset hood louvers, pop-up headlights, and a Kamm tail with a transparent glass panel. The car entered production in 1974, and approximately 155 examples were sold in the US through the end of production in 1982.
