Description
This 1975 Porsche 914 is a GT-style tribute build finished in Gulf-inspired livery and powered by a retrofitted 3.2-liter flat-six. Originally a 2.0-liter four-cylinder car, it was converted to six-cylinder power with an engine sourced from a 1988 911 and sends drive to the rear wheels through a 901 5-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Extensively modified with steel GT flares, 16" 917-style wheels, Boxster-sourced brakes, and a PMO individual-throttle-body EFI setup, it is offered by its third owner with a comprehensive history file. It is now being offered for auction in California.
The car wears Gulf-style livery, with the stripes painted and the logos applied as decals, over Laguna Blue bodywork. It features steel GT-style fender flares and valances, pop-up H4 headlights, Patrick Motorsport-installed balsa-core front and rear decklids, Cibie auxiliary lights, dual mirrors, an external fuel filler, hood pins, decklid latches, and center-exit exhaust outlets. It rides on 16" Group 4 917-style wheels wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato tires measuring 205/55 up front and 245/45 at the rear, with paint protection film cut to act as rock guards on the leading edges of the rear flares. The seller states that the car was painted by Patrick Motorsports when the steel flares were installed, and that minor rust under the right rear taillight corner was recently repaired by AIR Motorsports.
