Description
The Porsche 914 was the product of a collaboration between Porsche and Volkswagen, pairing a mid-engine layout and a removable Targa roof panel in an accessible two-seat sports car. This 1975 example is an enthusiast-owned, modified car powered by a built 2056cc flat-four connected to a rebuilt 5-speed manual transaxle. The engine was extensively rebuilt with machine work by Boucher's Automotive and upgraded with new pistons, Crower valve springs, chromoly pushrods, rebuilt Weber carburetors, and a Bluetooth-programmable 123ignition system. Refinished in metallic green over a tan interior and featuring Mahle "Baby Gas Burner" wheels, it is now being offered for auction in New Hampshire.
Originally finished in Malaga Red, the car has been refinished in metallic green and retains its removable Targa roof panel. Modifications include backdated bumpers with new tops and Mahle "Baby Gas Burner" wheels with a matching spare. The seller states that the car is rust-free in the critical areas, including the rockers, jack points, floors, battery tray, and trunk plates, while noting that the paint is bubbling in a few areas. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in tan leather and features an aftermarket four-spoke wood-trimmed steering wheel, new sun visors, and a custom-matched center console inlay. Other accessories include a wood-trimmed center console with auxiliary gauges, VDO instrumentation, black dashboard trim, and tan square-weave carpeting.
