Description
This 1976 Honda GL1000 Gold Wing is one of approximately 2,000 Limited Edition units offered to buyers in the US to commemorate the country’s bicentennial, and this example was registered in Indiana before its 2025 acquisition by the seller. Subsequent work included refinishing the frame, lapping the valves, replacing the timing belts, rebuilding the Keihin carburetors and the brake calipers, and installing Progressive Suspension rear shocks as well as replacing the tires, fork seals, and more as described below. Finished in Candy Limited Maroon Custom with gold pinstriping, the bike is powered by a liquid-cooled 999cc SOHC flat-four linked with a five-speed transmission and an enclosed driveshaft. It also has an electric starter, a dual-outlet exhaust system, triple disc brakes, gold-finished D.I.D alloy rims, an under-seat fuel tank, locking storage, a rear grab bar, chrome-finished fenders, and both center and side stands. This GL1000 is offered at no reserve with a front fairing, engine guards, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name. The seller notes that the frame was refinished as part of the refurbishment, and the motorcycle features bodywork finished in Candy Limited Maroon Custom (R7CC) with gold pinstriping. The faux fuel tank opens for access to storage as well as the fuel filler and air filter, and the five-gallon fuel reservoir is located beneath the black two-up seat. Additional features include a rear grab bar, chrome-finished fenders, and both center and side stands. The seller notes scratches in the finish and pitting in the chrome.
