1976 MG MGB Mk IV

I have owned this vehicle for 35 years. My father and I purchased this MGB from the previous owner in 1991 just after it was moved to the Chicagoland area from Arizona. The car was running and had minimal rust when we purchased it but, being from the Arizona climate, the rest of the car required quite a bit of other work. We immediately began dismantling the vehicle for restoration and completed the restoration in 1993. It was then driven often for another 4 years until it received an engine rebuild at about 100K which was completed by a professional shop in 1997. The car continued to be driven often until 2002 but than sat, mostly in a garage and only with an occasional start, until 2017. The car was then transported from northern Illinois to northern Colorado in 2018 where it received, by a pro shop, a refresh of the clutch, brake, and ignition systems as well as what it needed to pass Colorado emission standards - the car was ready for action again! The car has been driven and serviced regularly ever since. The most current services have been a new alternator, battery, and washer motor along with rebuilt twin SU carburetors and the addition of a horn relay. 35 years worth of receipts. A number of extra parts and books are included in the sale including a tonneau cover, car cover, air dam, anti-sway bar, and chrome molding set. Asking $11,500 - I have dumped about $12k into this vehicle since 2018 alone not to mention the time and money since 1991. Want to get this to a person who will appreciate and use it - it was my first car when I was 16 and a lot of memories with my father are in this car. I unfortunately lost him a few years back. The car has been prepared for transfer of ownership and can be enjoyed immediately.
