Description
This 1976 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham was purchased brand new at Spriggs Oldsmobile in Celina, Ohio. The owner was a Mercer County Highway Dept. employee and a gentleman farmer. In 1985, with approximately 17,000 miles, this vehicles was very carefully prepared and stored in a newly constructed pole barn on his property just north of Grand Lake St. Marys, where it stayed, untouched, for 33 years until his passing. In December of 2018, an estate auction was held and the car was purchased by a gentleman from Mendon, Ohio. Subsequently, during 2019, the Toronado's entire fuel system (from the tank, lines, pump, filter) were replaced as well as the entire braking system (master, lines, calipers, discs, pads, wheel cylinders, drums and shoes). Additionally, the car was resprayed in it's original factory color (Saddle Metallic Poly) and given a new factory correct Buckskin color landau top. The stock "J" cylinder heads were also removed and replaced with "F" castings from 1971. In 2020, the Toronado was then sold to a car collector/dealer/museum owner in Virginia where it stayed until 2021, when it was sold to a car dealer in Florida. I purchased the Toronado in November of 2023. Since that time, the Toronado has been further rejuvenated to become an absolute turn-key go anywhere, reliable vehicle even during the hottest weather. Every vehicle function and option works perfectly as it should.
