Description
This 1976 Porsche 912E is one of approximately 2,100 produced for a single model year, and it was purchased by its current owner in Illinois in 1999. Finished in Silver Metallic over black leatherette upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 14″ Fuchs alloy wheels, an aftermarket sunroof, fog lights, air conditioning, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, a Sony CD changer, and a heated rear window. Work completed since 2025 consisted of fluid changes, a valve adjustment, installing PerTronix electronic ignition, addressing vacuum leaks, and replacing the battery and assorted ignition and fuel delivery components. This 912E shows 80k miles and is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner , with an owner’s manual, service records, and an Illinois title. After the Porsche 914 was discontinued, the 912E was offered for the 1976 model year only as a lower-priced alternative to the 911. This example was finished from the factory in Silver Metallic (936) and is equipped with a fender-mounted antenna, fog lights, tinted windows, and a driver’s door mirror. An aftermarket pop-up sunroof was installed in 2003, and an April 2011 invoice in the gallery lists a body repair. Replacement wiper blades were installed in 2025. Oxidation and spots are visible on portions of the paint, and there are dents in the left headlight surround and near the headlight. Corrosion is noted near the door stop and below the windshield, the frunk struts will need to be replaced, and additional photos of paint chips and imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.
