1978 Chevrolet Malibu Coupe

Vehicle Description 1978 Chevrolet Malibu $30,000 Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to present this clean and increasingly hard-to-find 1978 Chevrolet Malibu Coupe, a classic example of Chevrolet's downsized G-body that perfectly captures the styling and simplicity of late-1970s American motoring. Finished in a crisp White exterior over a beautifully preserved Camel Tan interior, this Malibu has the timeless look of a factory muscle cruiser while offering the comfort and drivability that make it equally enjoyable on weekend cruises or local car shows. Under the hood sits the desirable 350 CID Chevrolet V8, paired with the proven Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic transmission. This classic small-block combination delivers smooth, reliable power with the unmistakable sound and feel that has made Chevrolet V8s legendary for generations. Whether cruising down the highway or pulling into a Cars & Coffee event, this Malibu provides effortless performance backed by one of GM's most respected drivetrains. Equipped with factory air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes, this Malibu offers comfort and convenience that make it easy to enjoy even on warm summer days. The power steering provides light, confident handling, while the power brakes inspire confidence behind the wheel, making this classic as pleasant to drive as it is to admire. The exterior presents beautifully in White, highlighting the Malibu's clean, angular lines and understated elegance. Chrome bumpers, bright trim, factory-style mirrors, and polished Chevrolet rally wheels wrapped in raised white-letter tires give the car an authentic period-correct appearance that never goes out of style. Unlike many heavily modified classics, this Malibu retains the honest, tasteful look that collectors continue to appreciate. Inside, the spacious cabin is equally impressive. The Camel Tan bench seat appears exceptionally well preserved, complemented by matching door panels, carpeting, and dashboard. A wood-rim steering wheel adds a sporty touch while maintaining the classic feel of the interior. The clean instrument panel and uncluttered layout reflect an era when simplicity and functionality went hand in hand, creating a comfortable driving environment with plenty of vintage charm. The 1978 model year marked the debut of Chevrolet's all-new, lighter G-body Malibu, making it an important chapter in Chevrolet history. While many buyers selected six-cylinder engines during the fuel-conscious late 1970s, examples equipped with the 350 V8 have become increasingly uncommon, making this Malibu especially desirable among collectors and enthusiasts looking for something different from the typical muscle car offerings. Whether you're searching for a clean weekend cruiser, a rare V8 G-body to preserve, or the perfect foundation for a future performance build, this 1978 Chevrolet Malibu Coupe checks all the right boxes. Its desirable 350/TH350 drivetrain, factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, attractive color combination, and well-preserved presentation make it a standout example of an often-overlooked American classic that's becoming harder to find every year.
