1978 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Base

I am helping my father sell this car and learning about this car as I am listing it. We recently had this car professionally appraised by a local antique appraiser in August 25’ after extensive mechanical work was done to make the car drivable and road ready. This took place in Pasco, Washington. Please note that we are starting our asking price in the middle of the appraised fair market value range between $20,000 and $30,000, this is obviously negotiable. Mercedes lovers and experts will likely know more about the car than we do, but we are trying our best to provide accurate information in terms of the cars previous owners habits and history with the vehicle. This Mercedes belonged to his stepfather who had only a few hobbies but spending a Saturday at his storage unit washing, wiping, and detailing this car was one of those hobbies. He purchased this car used for almost $25,000 in 1987 and he is believed to be the second owner; making the car about nine years old when he took ownership. It was purchased with 61,887 miles (see documentation). In the 43 years that he owned the car he put approximately 7000 miles on the vehicle. It was garaged in an empty storage unit for the entire length of that ownership. He cared for this car very much and took very good care of it in terms of upkeep and maintenance even though he drove it very little. He was meticulous in documenting maintenance and parts records. upon his passing, the car needed to be removed from the storage unit which required a tow directly to a mechanic. Most of the work done was to the fuel delivery components and getting the car started and running (see documentation).
