1978 Porsche 911

DescriptionOne owner 911 Targa SC, on the secondary market for the first time. This is not a tired worn out Porsche in need of serious attention. All of that has just been done and this Targa is ready for immediate use. Pack your bags and head out. A comprehensive inspection was done and all recommended services were performed with a final mechanical bill totalling just under $8,000 in May of 2016. All oil cooler lines were replaced, the engine and transmission was pulled and inspected. The clutch was worn and replaced along with the clutch fork and bushings and cables. The crank shaft seal was replaced and valves adjusted. All four brake lines replaced, steering bushings, throttle bushings. All sending units replaced. Original plastic steering wheel bushings were worn and cracked and those were replaced with upgraded steel unit. The steering rack was taken a part and there was enough wear that a rebuilt rack from Porsche special order was ordered including pinion gear and all bearings and tire rod ends. As you could expect a full tune was performed with new cap and rotor, plugs ext. The AC unit was tested for leaks and converted to R134 with new belts. Once it was mechanically tight attention was turned to the cosmetics. The dash is original and free from cracks, the same couldn't be said for the door panel. The panels were replaced with a perfect match. The Targa top was in need of recovering top and bottom and that was done professionally as well. This car never received a full repaint but has seen some touch ups through out the years. Talk with Shep or Max for the paint meter results.
