1978 Porsche 911SC Targa Project

This 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa project was purchased by the seller’s father-in-law in 2005, and its 3.0-liter flat-six was removed and overhauled before the car was gifted to the seller as a wedding present in 2018. The Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential were also removed, and work under current ownership included repairing areas of rust on the front end where the fenders attach. Finished in black over matching leather and cloth upholstery, the car has 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a removable roof panel, H4 Headlights, a tea tray rear spoiler, and a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel. This non-running 911SC Targa project is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, manufacturer’s literature, service records, spare parts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name. The 3.0-liter flat-six was removed from the car by the seller’s father-in-law, and the seller tells us that it was rebuilt for use with Weber carburetors by Gunnar Racing of West Palm Beach, Florida.
