Description
This 1979 Ford F-150 custom pickup is powered by a supercharged 545ci V-8 engine built on a John Kaase four-bolt-main 460 Sportsman block, paired with a custom-built Broader Performance C6 automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The bored and stroked engine features an Eagle forged 4.5-inch crankshaft, Scat 6.7-inch connecting rods, COMP camshaft, COMP Cams roller rockers and Edelbrock CJ aluminum cylinder heads. A Don Hampton 8-71 supercharger is paired with Holley electronic fuel injection. Additional engine components include a Melling high-volume oil pump, Milodon oil pan, PRW fabricated valve covers, MSD High Fire ignition, Powermaster chrome mini starter and March polished serpentine drive system. The transmission is coupled to a custom-built Texas torque converter with a carbon-fiber scatter shield. The drivetrain features 4.88 front and 4.86 rear gears. The exhaust system includes custom headers with electronic cutouts. The chassis features a Skyjacker 6-inch suspension lift with custom fabrication and chrome detailing. Additional equipment includes hydro-boost steering and 37x13.50 Nitto Mud Grappler tires. Braking is handled by SSBC four-wheel disc brakes with line lock. Exterior modifications include custom suicide doors, a removable hardtop and a four-post hood system operated by linear actuators. The hood, doors and lighting system feature remote-control operation. The exterior is finished in a custom Axalta Candy Apple Ribbon and white paint scheme with blue pearl accents. Interior features include a Dakota Digital gauge cluster, Ron Francis wiring harness, BMW six-way power seats, power windows and remote entry. The audio system includes a Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS multimedia receiver. The truck has been owned by its second owner since 1982 and underwent a custom build involving more than 3,000 hours of labor. It has received numerous awards, was recognized as one of Meguiar's Top 150 vehicles and was displayed in the Axalta booth at the 2014 SEMA Show.
