Description
This 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT Lariat custom pickup is powered by a supercharged 5.4L Ford Racing V8 engine paired with a rebuilt heavy-duty 4R100 4-speed automatic transmission. Originally built at Ford's Oakville, Ontario, assembly plant as a two-wheel-drive F-150, the truck underwent an approximately 2,000-hour frame-off rotisserie-style restoration and was converted to four-wheel drive. The drivetrain includes an electric touch-selectable 4x4 transfer case, rebuilt axles and U-joints, and rebuilt 3.55 differentials. Cooling is handled by a high-performance radiator and electric fan. The braking system was rebuilt with updated disc and drum brakes, cables, lines, brake booster and master cylinder. The frame was sandblasted and coated with Line-X and fitted with new body bushings, Rough Country shocks and leaf springs. The exterior features Lariat brightwork, Styleside bed rails, a Fulton-style exterior sun visor with LED marker lights, supercharger hood scoop, LED headlights, dual chrome exhaust and a factory-style heavy-duty towing setup with trailer hitch. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Atturo Trail Blade tires. The interior features button-tufted black leather upholstery on the doors, headliner and center console, along with power windows, power door locks, power seats, cruise control, an adjustable steering column, 3-point seat belts and air conditioning converted to R-134a refrigerant. A Pioneer touchscreen stereo provides Bluetooth connectivity and a backup camera. Instrumentation includes a speedometer, tachometer and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, fuel pressure and voltage. Restoration receipts and photos documenting the build are included.
