Vehicle Description 1979 Ford Ranchero $13,000 Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this 1979 Ford Ranchero GT Brougham. Step back into the pinnacle of late-1970s automotive versatility and style with this stunning pickup truck. Representing the final production year of Ford's legendary coupe-utility vehicle, this Ranchero Brougham is the perfect convergence of everyday utility and top-tier luxury. Built on the smooth-riding, intermediate mid-size platform shared with the Ford LTD II and Thunderbird, this final-year classic offers a boulevard-smooth ride with the undeniable presence of a true American collector car. With its sleek black exterior and blue Accent Stripes, this Ranchero GT Brougham offers a unique aesthetic that is beautifully complemented by a gray and light tan interior. This beauty features long wearing deluxe vinyl upholstery, 60/40 split-bench seat setup, dual fold-down center armrests and a tilt steering wheel. Additional comfort is added with air conditioning so every ride is both smooth and comfortable. The AM/FM radio covers your entertainment needs in this Ranchero GT Brougham. Under the hood is a durable 5.8L Windsor V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission to deliver powerful but also smooth and responsive handling. The 351 Windsor utilizes a small-block Ford architecture but features a taller deck height compared to a standard 302 V8 to allow for its longer stroke. Three-speed automatic transmissions from the muscle car and classic truck era are legendary for their durability. Their longevity comes down to basic mechanical simplicity, heavy-duty materials, and low internal operating stress. Power steering and brakes allow smooth stop ability and handling on any long road trip or while running daily errands.
