Description
This 1979 KTM 420 MC80 was the subject of a 2014 refurbishment by Vintage Iron of Yorba Linda, California, with work that included rebuilding the air-cooled 420cc two-stroke single, replacing the white plastic bodywork, powder-coating the frame and ancillary components in orange, and refreshing the seat as well as installing a Mikuni flat-slide carburetor, an aftermarket exhaust silencer, a Gunnar Gasser throttle, an aftermarket cross-braced handlebar, Race Tech fork springs and rear shocks, and more as described below. The motorcycle rides on laced wheels with shouldered rims and stainless-steel spokes, and it also features a five-speed transmission, a kick starter, a leading-axle fork, drum brakes, high-mounted fenders, front and side number plates, and serrated foot pegs. Recently acquired by the selling dealer, this KTM 420 is offered at no reserve for off-road use only with refurbishment records and a California off-highway title. The bike has replacement white plastic bodywork, while gold-outlined blue graphics accent the fuel tank. The chromoly-steel frame and the serrated foot pegs wear an orange powder-coat finish, and additional details include a white and yellow front number plate, a high-mounted front fender with Vintage Iron decals, and side number plates as well as an overhauled black seat with KTM lettering. The bike is not equipped with a deployable side or center stand.
