1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC

This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC has the look, the stance, and the right old-school Mercedes character. The C107 SLC has always been a cool alternative to the more commonly seen SL roadsters, a fixed-roof grand touring coupe with long, elegant proportions, pillarless side glass, V8 power, and that unmistakable 1970s Mercedes-Benz presence. This one takes that classic formula and adds the right period-inspired touches without taking away from what makes the car special.Mechanically, the car remains stock, which is a major part of the appeal. Power comes from Mercedes-Benz's M117 4.5-liter V8 paired with an automatic transmission, giving it the smooth, relaxed, torque-rich feel these cars are known for. It runs and drives great, and the stock drivetrain keeps the car true to its original grand touring personality, comfortable, confident, and built for effortless cruising.Visually, this 450 SLC sits exactly how it should. The lowered stance gives the car a more aggressive profile, while the 18-inch BBS wheels fit the body beautifully and bring out the coupe's long, low shape. The AMG-style rear spoiler adds the right amount of period performance attitude, giving the car a subtle but serious look without going over the top. It is clean, tasteful, and properly put together.Inside, the fully custom interior is one of the biggest standout features. The cabin has been redone with a high-end custom look, complemented by a beautiful wood grain steering wheel that adds warmth and classic style. The SLC already has a special feel from the driver's seat, with its wide dash, big glass area, and pillarless coupe design, and this interior gives it a much more custom, finished personality.Another major selling point is the documentation. The car comes with tons of service records, lots of recent receipts, and extensive maintenance history. Many new parts have been installed, and the expensive stuff has already been handled, which is exactly what you want to hear on a classic Mercedes. This is not just shiny for photos, it is a car that has clearly had real money and attention put into keeping it roadworthy and enjoyable.Key Highlights:1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLCC107 fixed-roof grand touring coupeMechanically stock exampleM117 4.5-liter V8 engineAutomatic transmissionRuns and drives greatFully custom interiorBeautiful wood grain steering wheelLowered stance18-inch BBS wheelsAMG-style rear spoilerTons of service records includedRecent receipts and extensive maintenance historyMany new parts installedClassic Mercedes style with tasteful upgradesThis 450 SLC is the kind of classic Benz that gets attention for all the right reasons.
