Description
Inspired by Porsche’s legendary 1974 911 Carrera RSR, this extensively modified 1979 Porsche 911SC began life as a factory sunroof-delete coupe before undergoing a bare-metal transformation into the RSR-style tribute presented today. Finished in Glasurit Orange paint with widened RSR-style bodywork, a carbon fiber IROC-style tail, and a purpose-built performance interior, the car made its public debut at the 2018 Werks Reunion at Amelia Island, where it earned first place in the 911 Outlaw class. Since its previous sale on PCARMARKET in 2020, the current owner has reportedly invested more than $70k and 327 hours of skilled labor into further mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic development, including extensive engine work, a standalone MS3Pro EVO+ engine management system, a motorsport-grade wiring system, and a newly trimmed interior. Showing approximately 72k miles on the odometer with limited mileage accumulated since completion of the build, this comprehensively developed RSR tribute is now being offered for auction in New York with documentation for the recent work.
During the original build, the body was stripped to bare metal, repaired as necessary, and professionally refinished in #018 Glasurit Orange paint with color-matched SEM Rock-It undercoating. Its backdated RSR-style appearance is defined by widened fiberglass fender flares and bumpers, along with a carbon fiber IROC RSR-style rear spoiler. Additional details include H4 headlights with black trim rings, RSR-logo side stripes, an RSR-style driver's side mirror, front and rear fender vents, hood and decklid pins, silver Porsche-branded brake calipers, and dual exhaust outlets. Fifteen52 Outlaw 003 wheels measuring 9.5x17” up front and 11x17” at the rear are mounted with 255- and 315-section Toyo R888R tires, respectively. Various components have also been refinished with powdercoating and Cerakote as part of the latest round of work. Some front-end paint protection film is applied.
