The B230F was sourced from a 1988 Volvo 245, and the conversion has been California BAR inspected and approved, making this a particularly appealing example for California enthusiasts. The overdrive operates properly and makes the car comfortable at highway speeds. The interior was also updated with a dashboard sourced from the 1988 Volvo 245 donor, while retaining the 262C’s distinctive Bertone appointments. Additional conveniences include air conditioning converted to R134a, an upgraded audio system with Apple CarPlay, backup camera, power windows, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The original steering wheel is included. The car has benefited from extensive recent maintenance, including suspension and brake work. The previous owner reported that the timing belt and water pump were replaced at approximately 101k miles, with the mileage noted on the timing cover. The body and undercarriage were inspected closely, with solid floor pans and excellent, rust-free frame rails.Finished in its elegant gold exterior over a light leather interior, this 262C presents exceptionally well and drives beautifully. The combination of Bertone styling, Volvo’s durable B230F Redblock, manual transmission with overdrive, and California-compliant engine conversion makes this a genuinely unusual 262C that can be enjoyed rather than simply displayed.A rare Swedish-Italian classic with one of Volvo’s most respected drivetrains and a proper manual transmission.
