1980 BMW R100S

This 1980 BMW R100 was modified by Boxer Metal of California in the style of a drag bike in a project that included fitting a twin-turbo system to its 980cc opposed-twin. The bike is finished in gold metal-flake with hand painted black pinstripes and lettering over a black powder-coated frame that was stretched, lowered, and modified with a rigid rear end. Additional modifications include twin T3/T4 turbos, two wastegates and blowoff valves, a MegaSquirt MicroSquirt system, electronic fuel injection, a Dyna Coil electronic ignition module, linked disc brakes, a front-brake line lock, an oil cooler, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, an Acewell LCD screen, a custom leather solo saddle integrated into the rear fender, rear-set foot controls, clip-on handlebars, and analog boost gauges. The bike is in non-running condition, and it has won multiple awards, including winning The One Moto Show and Second Place for Custom Motorcycle in 2016 at The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. It was purchased by its previous owner on BaT in March 2023 and was later acquired by the selling dealer in 2026. This custom R100 is now offered at no reserve in Florida for display use only with a bill of sale. The bike is finished in gold large-metal-flake with black hand painted pinstripes and letters over a black powder-coated R100 frame that was stretched 6″, lowered 4″, and modified with a rigid rear end. Equipment includes a custom brown leather solo saddle integrated into the rear fender, a modified replacement Dnepr fuel tank with rubber knee grips, and rear-set foot controls.
