1980 Pontiac Firebird Base

This car started life as a 1978 trans am 400 A/T black and gold special edition. It was purchased in 1981 in Pennsylvania as a recovered theft vehicle from Newark,NJ at an insurance auction. This car was repaired with parts from a 1980 Firebird and also assumed the vin number of the parts car. This is why it is listed for sale as a firebird and not a trans am. Vin number on car will not show it being a 1978 trans am. It has a reconstructed PA title and reassigned vin number.I have owned the car since 1987. It currently has a chevy SB 350 engine and TH350 transmission. Engine has blown head gasket, It will run and drive but will need to be towed to its new owner as it overheats. Body was refinished in 2002. Has recent year one 17in snowflakes and new tires installed. 10 bolt rear end has 3.73 posi gears and factory disc brake set up. Has rust in lower rear quarter panels and some rust repair in floor pans. This car will need alot of restoration to be perfect but will make a good driver with engine repairs.The price reflects that. Stripped shells of these cars are selling for 5K.
