1980 Suzuki Cervo

1980 Suzuki Cervo GX-G (SS20) — 29,350 km (18,166 mi) A remarkably preserved example of Suzuki’s first-generation Suzuki Cervo SS20—a Giugiaro-designed kei coupe with rear-engine, two-stroke character. Powered by a 539cc three-cylinder two-stroke mounted behind the rear axle, the SS20 represents the final era of Suzuki’s lightweight, rear-engined kei cars before the shift to more conventional layouts. This CX-G is the top-specification model, notably equipped with front disc brakes (unique to the upper trim) along with upgraded interior appointments and trim. Key Highlights 29,350 km (18,166 miles) from new Books and inspection records dating back to 1979 Rear-engine / RWD layout with T5A 550cc 2-stroke triple Top-spec CX-G (front discs, upgraded trim) Exceptionally preserved example Compact, lightweight, and unmistakably Italian in proportion, the Cervo reflects Giorgetto Giugiaro’s early influence on Japanese design—bridging kei practicality with mini-GT styling. The SS20 is also historically notable as one of Suzuki’s last passenger cars powered by a two-stroke engine, adding mechanical character that later kei cars lost. An increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a well-documented, top-spec early kei coupe—equal parts design object and analog driving experience.
