Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Spitfire 1500 was the final version of Triumph's Michelotti-designed roadster, built from late 1974 until production ended in August 1980. Its 1,493cc inline-four was the largest engine fitted to the Spitfire, and an overdrive was optional on the all-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission. US-market cars from the last two model years were rated at 52.5 horsepower and were fitted with energy-absorbing rubber bumpers, and Triumph built 95,829 Spitfire 1500s in total.
This final-year Spitfire 1500 has been owned by the seller for 25 years and is finished in red over black vinyl seats with red piping. It is equipped with an overdrive transmission.
Modifications include a Weber downdraft carburetor, an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, 13-inch Minator 8-spoke alloy wheels, a Momo Indy wood-rim steering wheel, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The seller states the car benefits from an older refurbishment, and a replacement top, seat covers, and carpet have been recently installed.
This Spitfire 1500 is now offered at no reserve with a removable steel hardtop and a clean Kansas title in the seller's name.
