Description
OVERVIEWPaul Bracq, previously known for his work at Mercedes-Benz, styled the E24-generation 6 Series that includes this car. The "CSi" designation marks it as a fuel-injected coupe, the suffix BMW used across the E24 lineup to distinguish injected models from their carbureted counterparts. BMW introduced a 5-speed manual transmission for the 1981 model year, replacing the previous 4-speed, making this one of the first 633CSi examples built with the newer gearbox. The E24 remained in production from 1976 to 1989, with this 1981 car predating the higher-performance M635CSi that arrived in 1983 and the 8-series that replaced the whole line in 1990. Manual-transmission 633CSi examples carry a meaningful premium over automatics in today's market. The BMW Car Club of America remains the primary owners' organization supporting the model today.View More
