1981 Jeep CJ5

Vehicle Description 1981 Jeep CJ5 $11,500 1981 Jeep CJ-5 Custom V8 " Fiberglass Body " 4-Speed " $11,500 This 1981 Jeep CJ-5 combines classic short-wheelbase Jeep styling with the power of a Chevrolet small-block V8 and a number of practical upgrades aimed at open-air cruising and off-road enjoyment. Finished in an eye-catching Kaiser-Willys Olive with contrasting tan seating, this CJ presents with fresh paint and the purposeful, no-nonsense appearance that has made the early CJ series such an enduring favorite. The original steel body has been replaced with a full fiberglass body, eliminating one of the most common rust concerns associated with vintage CJs. The interior has been Rhino-lined for durability and easy maintenance, while a Bimini-style soft top provides some welcome protection from the sun without taking away from the Jeep's open-air character. Power comes from a 327-cubic-inch Chevrolet small-block V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and hydraulic clutch. The Jeep is equipped with power steering, manual brakes with drums at all four corners, and a tilt steering column. The combination of a lightweight fiberglass body, compact CJ-5 dimensions, V8 power, and manual transmission should make this a particularly entertaining Jeep for cruising, trail use, or simply enjoying around town. The exterior's recently applied olive finish is complemented by black fender flares, tubular side steps and a substantial tubular front bumper/brush guard. A fresh set of Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 31x10.50R15LT tires mounted on steel wheels provides the appropriately rugged stance seen here. Inside, the CJ benefits from new tan seats, a custom sound bar, Bluetooth audio capability, tilt steering, and the freshly Rhino-lined passenger compartment. The odometer currently displays 18,586 miles; given the vehicle's modifications and drivetrain changes, the displayed mileage should not be represented as verified original mileage.
