1981 Jeep Scrambler CJ8

Description 1981 Jeep Scrambler CJ8 – Derived from the CJ-7, with a 10-inch longer wheelbase and extended rear overhang, the CJ-8 Scrambler was initially available as a pickup with a bulkhead behind the seats. Buyers could choose either a hard fiberglass pickup cab with steel doors or folding vinyl pickup top with vinyl doors. Its introduction in 1981 meant that it preceded all other domestic-made compact pickups by at least a year (the Chevrolet S-10 was introduced in 1982 and the Ford Ranger was a mid-year introduction for 1983). Later, a full-length hard fiberglass wagon roof was made available, but very few were fitted. By and large, the majority of Scramblers were hard cab pickups. This first-year Jeep Scrambler is as nice as they come! It was the subject of a complete body-off restoration in 2017 and has been garage kept since. Over the last 9 years it has seen under 1,600 miles including our 50 mile test drive. The interior has been upgraded with Mastercraft seats and high-end stereo components. The exterior features custom bumpers, winch and Halo headlights. Otherwise, this CJ8 maintains a very original appearance. Features and options include; Rebuilt 4.2L FI 6 Cyl, 4 Speed, 4×4, A/C, Bikini Top, Chrome Grille/Mirrors, Custom Bumpers, K&N Air Filters, Dual Exhaust, Rubber Floormats, KC(2) & Navedo(2) Fog Lights, Power Steering/Brakes, Kenwood AM/FM/CD, Alpine Speakers, Rollbar, Rugged Ridge Nerf Bars, Tilt Wheel, Tow Package, Boar Winch w/ Remote, Wood Bedsides, Spare Tire w/Swing Carrier, 15″ Chrome Wheels, & Thick BF Goodrich Mudd-Terrain T/A Tires!
