Finished in an attractive cream exterior, this Renegade has the right combination of vintage Jeep personality, desirable equipment, and practical upgrades to make it an exciting choice for everything from weekend cruising to backroad adventures. The CJ-5 has always been one of the most recognizable American 4x4s, and 1982 represents one of the final chapters in the model's long production history. This example carries the desirable Renegade styling package, giving the classic CJ-5 an even more distinctive appearance. The cream-colored exterior provides a clean, timeless look while the Renegade graphics, body-side striping, and flared fenders give this Jeep the unmistakable vintage appearance enthusiasts love. Adding to the rugged presentation is a set of classic polished aluminum slot-style wheels wrapped in aggressive BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. The combination gives this CJ-5 a commanding stance while maintaining the period-correct character that makes these Jeeps so appealing. A soft top with matching soft half-doors completes the exterior and allows the Jeep to be enjoyed in true open-air fashion when the weather is right. Inside, the cabin combines classic Jeep simplicity with a number of upgrades that make this CJ-5 even more enjoyable to drive. The interior features comfortable high-back bucket seats finished in a warm tan/saddle color, complementing the cream exterior beautifully. The ribbed seat inserts add a period-inspired appearance while providing a comfortable place to settle in behind the wheel. Modern conveniences have also been incorporated into the cabin, including an aftermarket head unit with under-dash speakers, an auxiliary climate/AC control setup, and a locking center console with cup holders. The floor-mounted shifter keeps the driving experience distinctly Jeep, putting the manual transmission and four-wheel-drive controls right where you want them. Under the hood is AMC's legendary 258 cubic-inch, 4.2-liter inline-six, fed by a Holley Sniper EFI Fuel System, The 258 is one of the most recognizable engines ever installed in a Jeep and is renowned for its strong low-end torque, straightforward mechanical design, durability, and excellent serviceability. It is an ideal powerplant for a CJ-5, providing the kind of usable torque that makes these Jeeps so much fun on the street, trails, and everywhere in between. An aluminum radiator adds to the mechanical presentation and helps provide dependable cooling. Behind the 258 is a 4-speed manual transmission, giving the driver full control over the Jeep's power and making the most of the torquey inline-six. Power is delivered through a traditional part-time 4x4 system with a dual-range transfer case, giving this CJ-5 the capability and versatility expected from a true Jeep. Whether you're cruising around town, exploring back roads, or heading toward the trail, the combination of the 258 six-cylinder, four-speed manual, and 4x4 drivetrain delivers an engaging old-school driving experience that modern SUVs simply cannot duplicate. There is something special about a classic CJ-5. It is compact, open, mechanical, and unmistakably American. You sit upright behind the wheel, shift the gears yourself, and have the freedom to remove the top and doors when the weather calls for it. This Renegade takes that experience and adds a great-looking cream exterior, desirable Renegade styling, aggressive BFGoodrich tires, polished aluminum wheels, a 258 inline-six, four-speed manual transmission, and four-wheel drive. Whether you're looking for a vintage Jeep to take to local shows, a weekend cruiser with serious personality, or a classic 4x4 ready for outdoor adventures, this 1982 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade has the right combination of style, equipment, and character. With its iconic Renegade appearance, open-air design, torquey 258 six-cylinder, four-speed manual transmission, and capable 4x4 drivetrain, this Jeep delivers the authentic CJ experience in a package that stands out everywhere it goes.
